Sam Brown is a writer and podcaster, born in Gloucestershire and currently based in East London.

He has written for various publications, including anthologies, online journals, and literary magazines.

He is writing a novel, The Bible of Bob Smeek, a queer political satire set in the United States.

In March 2024, Sam Brown became the lead producer, host, and editor of the My Girlfriend and Doctor Who podcast.

In August 2024, Sam Brown won the Mike Resnick Memorial Award for Best Science Fiction Short Story by a New Author.

PUBLIC READINGS
In 2023, Sam read his story, "Bingo with Jack", to a packed audience at The Bull & Gate pub in Camden. His story was chosen from several published in Issue 8 of the Friends on a Shelf magazine.

In 2024, Sam read "Bingo with Jack" to students at Wyedean School. Sophie Hannah, who organized the talk, said: "Sam was an excellent speaker. The students were really inspired!"

In 2023, Sam won the Scottish Islands Explorer writing competition, recognising him as “an accomplished young writer”. The reward was £1000 and publication in Scottish Islands Explorer, released in Summer, 2024.
Emerging Writers, 2024.
The London Library.
In 2024, Sam was short-listed for the London Library's Emerging Writers Programme. The judges described his submission - the beginning chapters of The Bible of Bob Smeek - as "impressive" and that the novel "merited serious consideration".
The Mike Resnick Memorial
Award, 2024. Galaxy's Edge.
In 2024, Sam won the Mike Resnick Memorial Award, co-sponsored by Galaxy's Edge magazine to recognise the global Best Science Fiction Short Story by a New Author. Galaxy's Edge is known for publishing award-winning science fiction and fantasy (Hugo, Nebula, British Fantasy, etc.). The award ceremony was held in Atlanta, Georgia.
